I have an incompatible browser, what can I do?

When using the Samsung Internet browser on your Android device, you may experience issues performing actions such as payments, logging in or signing via Itsme in the Doccle app.

This browser blocks the automatic return to external apps like Doccle by default, which may cause the following issues:

  • After making a payment, you don't automatically return to the Doccle app. As a result, your payment seems incomplete and the payment status isn't updated automatically.
  • After logging in or confirming via Itsme, you don't return (automatically) to the Doccle app. Doccle can't verify your identity, making it appear that nothing happens.
  • You need to manually refresh screens or reopen the Doccle app after actions like authentication, signing or payments.

This issue is caused by Android OS settings combined with Samsung Internet, and is not due to Doccle. The proposed solution will also fix similar issues in other apps.

 

How do I recognize this issue?

Doccle automatically displays a message if this issue occurs:

"The Samsung Internet browser blocks returning to an external app. After logging in or confirming via Itsme, you won't (automatically) return to the Doccle app, preventing identity verification.

To fix this, set Google Chrome as the default browser or disable the 'Block links opening external apps' option under 'Security & Privacy'."

 

How can I solve this issue?

There are two simple solutions:

✅ Solution 1: Set Google Chrome as default browser (recommended)

Steps:

  1. If you haven't installed Google Chrome yet, download it from the Google Play Store.
  2. Open your Android device settings.
  3. Navigate to Apps.
  4. Select Default apps.
  5. Tap on Browser app.
  6. Select Google Chrome as your default browser.

 

⚙️ Solution 2: Change settings in Samsung Internet

Steps:

  1. Open Samsung Internet browser.
  2. Tap the menu icon (☰) at the bottom right.
  3. Go to Settings.
  4. Select Security & Privacy.
  5. Disable "Block links opening external apps".
